After a year put away, I drug out the Swaptop, got some more master laps, foam pads, cloth laps and diamond paste.........This stuff is fun to work with and gave results I couldn't get with the diamond laps. It is a 30X40mm oval of an unknown material, (maybe you know). All I can say for the Swaptop is that it does spin and the grooving bit works too! Never charged a cloth lap before and I think I was a little stingy on the diamond paste & heavy with the extender. A druzy opened up on one side near the edge, it has a flat sopt and the polish is lousy, but it's going back to the pads until it's worthy of a wrap! Thanks for looking.................. Steve

Beautiful cab, Steve! That intense purple goes so well with the browns! What are you using for making the groove?

There are two materials I know of with that color combination and they have different cutting qualities so you should be able to tell them apart if you have them in hand. If it works like jade, it's probably purple jade from Turkey and if agate, It's Burro Creek Agate from Arizona. Burro Creek is what it looks like to me from the pics....Mel

Very pretty cab. I started out with a swaptop. Its not the most powerful machine ever but it got me started on cabbing and I did turn out some nice ones. Great job.

I would second the ID on it being Burro Creek. A really beautiful cab. Bob

I think it looks great! Where did you get the foam pads to make the lap? I think that is the next thing I want to do. Fran

That cab is beautiful. The colors in it are striking so when you are done with it it sure is going to be a killer pendant.

No doubt the rock ID is PPR - "pretty purple rock". Nice job on the cab and groove! Garry
