Here they are - right out of the Herbet book - encased in stone. KD's pet wood at 80 - a large chunk. I can see 3 of the Sleath Ghosts - one is peering round the main one at the front. Quite spooky in all honesty - in particularly as its of wood from millions of years ago.

I can see them too, at least the images. I don't know who the Sleath Ghosts are though, unless they are related to Casper. *smile* That's pretty neat Mark, looks very smooth for just out of 80.

"Sleath. Quiet, peaceful. A small village hidden away in the Chiltern Hills, almost forgotten by the modern world. Nothing much seems to happen here, little disturbs the centuries-old tranquillity. Until the ghosts begin to appear. And frighteningly bizarre events start to occur. Psychic investigator David Ash, a man burdened by the dark secret of his own past, is sent to Sleath to investigate the phenomena and his discoveries there drive him to the very edge of his own sanity. The incidents grow worse until, in the final night of horror, awesome and malign forces are unleashed in a supernatural storm that threatens to consume the village itself. For Sleath is not what it seems. And the dead have returned for a reason."
good season for petrified ghosties.....

Alice - I saw him too - but I was thinking its a hand that stick. See this below - I guess with a nose so long - he must have been a tale teller in the previous world. Here we see the "peeper" - peeping round the main dude. And here is an old lady. Yes - the Ghosts of Sleath - a good read with a twist (a bit predictable unfortunately!) Maybe the "Wolfen Twins" are the main men of the rock? Or - perhaps its the old "shawled" lady with her back to us who is guiding the way. But theres something sinister about the lone wolf who looks over them all. Quite a remarkable stone.

Mark, I saw the ghost right away, but after looking at it for a while I saw the 5:00 shadow man.
Wow, talk about a good "camp fire story" rock! Many images to go with many made up stories for kids.
And those images after a while will look like something else, so you can change the stories

here's the 5:00 shadow guy that I see. I made the "sticks" into bad breath The old "shawled" lady - to me looks like the back of an angel (hunch back or looking down because you can't see the head), but you can see the halo

Here's my take on it, there's all kinds of ghosts and goblins in there and a bat too boot. Use your imagination and you'll see the big guy shooting lightning out of his hand. There's some kind of bird-footed goblin in there next to him. Who knows how many are on the back and sides but I'd say it's definitely a haunting stone. (I'll put Mark's original below so you can see it without having to scroll up and down.)

I haven't checked this thread for a couple of days, but glad I checked back in on it. You guys are CRAZY! I mean this rock is Crazy! I'm thrilled that you outlined all the Spirits that this rock contains. It is a great piece. I think the Scariest thing is, that if you were to place it on e-bay, and with it so close to Halloween, my guess you'd get a fetching price for it. That's truly the Scariest Thought here! Thanks for sharing the rock with us Mark...man, I need to get into my rocks more! Steve
