Did a little trim work with my new saw blade from superagates. One fine blade it is. Here are the pieces I'll be working. What we've got here is some Owyhee, Rutilated Quartz, some stuff from Steve (holiday exchange), Some pink stuff, and lots of tear drop shapes. ----------------------------- UPDATE ON PROGRESS ----------------------------- Okay, Let's get shaping. I got the trim saw back out and did a little more trimming. Then, I took all my trimmed goodies over to the diamond grinding wheel for some pre-shaping. Got several completed. Next, is the dopping process, and I've got my sticks and stones ready. Here are a few shots of the preforms I'll be working. The Whole Enchilada... Closer photo of some Owyhee, Craze Lace, Graveyard, dendretic, one brazilian, and one pinkie. Here's a photo of some Salina Wonderstone, Bloodstone, Dino Bone, Obsidian, Owyhee, Polkadot, and some Graveyard. The bottom owyhee looks like it has an owl in it. So, that's the update. Next will be the dopping process.

You trim better than me!!!! I ALWAYS cut through my shapes, that is why they all end up freeforms, LOL!!!
You have lots of nice material there, will make nice cabs, I like the teardrop shapes.

I can't wait to see these all done! I really like the one in the middle bottom. That yellow/black combo is great! What is that material?

Very nice! I have a pile of trims and pre-forms, then never get to complete any of them! This weekend-I swear!
Can't wait to see these finished up. KJ

Hey Titania, I'm not sure what that material is with the yellow, orange, and black. I bet steveholmes knows since I got it from him. I had a list of all the material I received from him, but I cannot find it. Steve, are you out there? What is this?

Hey David, what is that in the front row, 2nd tear drop? Brown, peachy, tan & black? You sent me a piece of that with the Cabmate and I asked about but hadn't gotten around to sending you a pic.

Great shapes David...and I'm thrilled that blade is working out for you. I swear by his blades...and they last for sometime. I only can recognize one of those that I sent you...Salina Wonderstone. (bottom middle teardrop) Have you worked any of that Dino Bone?? It's good to see you having some fun! Steve

Steve: I'm glad I took your advise and ordered the blade you recommended. It cuts really nice and is the perfect thickness for my likes. I haven't had a chance to work the Dino Bone yet. I ordered some new templates and was waiting for them to arrive before I cut the dino bone. They came yesterday, so the dino bone is next on my to-do-list. Thanks for the pieces and your help on choosing a good blade.
Titania & nancyid: Steve answered the mystery question... the stone in the middle with the orange/tan/black patterns is Salina Wonderstone. Nice looking stuff! This one should turn out sweet. nancyid, you can also thank Steve, he sent me a few pieces of the material during the Christmas exchange so I could afford to pass one on to you. He also sent me lots of other stuff!
bobby1: You're right, I'm going to have lots of fun with these...USING YOUR TECHNIQUES of course! I've got a whole ton of material you sent me, but it's all so darn pretty I'm afraid to cut into it. I did manage to find a really nice piece of Mexican Lace and a slab of Graveyard that are ready for the chopping block. Once I get the cabs of those done I'll post them.

Ha, Amber - I do the same thing. My saw takes me where it wants to go...
Really like the Owyhee cuts, especially the little tiny one. ;)S

Those preforms are great. I love that pointed Wonderstone at the top left and the sparkly ones off to the right. Looking forward to seeing the cabs.

They are coming out great. You really have beautiful scenes in a lot of these preforms. I love the one in the third pic top left. Looks like a snowy forest with a path.

They look very promissing! You have a lot of patience to work such a big batch. Once I start working at a cab, I usually want to see it finished in the same session, that's why I keep my batches small.

I'm a batch'er too, but I've never worked as big of a batch as that one! I'm really excited to see these completed!
