I finished these up last night. I think they'll be my last batch for this month. As always, I stink at ID's, so any help there with the unknowns would be appreciated. Thanks for looking! 1 - Dendritic jasper - unknown origin 2- Unknown - looks like maybe Larimar, but I dunno 3- Emerald in Matrix: 4- Jade...I'm assuming it's Nephrite: 5- Unknown jasper: 6- Unknown: 7- Another slice off the Laguna from Tony: 8- Dino bone - this one is about 4 cm across: Front: And, because the back was so flat and cool, I decided to leave it totally natural:

WOW! the laguna is my favorite - the dino bone is a close second! What a contrast between the front & the back on that one!
Great job keeping the circle round - that's one hard shape to keep circular

Going out like a Cabbing Queen for March huh Nichole! Bunch of sweet cabs there. My favs have to be the Laguna and Emerald. I am taking a stab at unknown #6. It looks like a piece of Teepee Canyon agate I got from Roger. I sliced a piece that looks very close to that. Steve

Really Nice set. My favorite is the dino bone, but it's a tough choice because they all look good.

This was the last one in March, whee's the first one in April? I like most the duno bone and leaving the back natural makes it even more interesting. Adrian

Very nice set of cabs. The first one is Brown Biggs picture jasper from Biggs Junction,OR. The second one is British Columbia Ocean Picture Rock. It is from Monte Lake, British Columbia. I don't think it can be mined anymore. I believe it is blue calcite and is fairly rare. That is a very nice cab of it. HPD

It looks like a piece of Teepee Canyon agate I got from Roger. I sliced a piece that looks very close to that. Steve I picked that slab up at a show, and the guy told me it was Misty Mountain Agate. After having a look at other slabs of Misty Mountain, I'm quite sure it's not. I've cut the slab apart now into small preforms, but it was a large slab...about 8" x 8" and didn't have any of the tan base rock you see with TeePee. It was 100% patterned. You're right, though, that the banding does look like TeePee.

I cut the rind off of it, but I believe I still have it tossed in my tumble bucket. I did some research on BC OPR, and it certainly does look similar. I have a pretty big slab, and it's 100% uniform...no pits or cracks. The stuff I've found on ebay looks pretty awful. I can't seem to find a material type on it, though. This stuff isn't anywhere near as soft as calcite. It was quite nice to work, actually...dragged a bit on the diamond wheels and was rather like jade to work, but otherwise worked very well.
