I got tired of making small cabs, so for a while I'm going to make some of my big cabs. This one is 5" across. Anyone have any idea what it is? I'm not sure. Bob

Big, small, all your cabs are perfect and so beautiful! This one is VERY big indeed! How thick are the slabs you use for those big sized cabs? I think it's difficult to make them out of slabs having normal thickness.

That is really nice. It looks like Ametheyst Sage dendritic agate to me

Bobby:
No problem identifiying what that is.............one hunkin' incredible cab! As to the agate, I would agree with fishenman. Denio Sage, as it was known before the amythest showed up, and it became Amythest Sage. I am of course guessing. Woody

Nice cab. Looks like Amethyst Sage or Snake River dendridic, both are very similar.

A thank you to all for the compliments and the identification. I've been used to seeing Amethyst Sage but it never dawned on me that all of this material doesn't necessarily have to have the Amethyst colors. Adrian, It was a normal slab thickness of slightly over 3/16". They do take additional work to get a dome, but it is possible. Bob

Bob, I cut over a hundred pounds of the amethyst sage and got three good, purple slabs. The rest ranged from junk to patches of dendrites similar to your cab. I think the reason the purple stuff is so expensive is the amount you have to cut to find it. Nice cab. It is so hard to get a good dome on large thin cabs.

Amethyst sage came to mind the second I saw it. 5 inches across you say? Wow, that's huge!! Beautiful cab

What a great cab! I really like the pattern and polish. It's the biggest cab I've ever seen! It could be made into a belt buckle for Goliath! Garry

Now, it is just like a guy to go around bragging about making big ones but in this case, you are correct ;D This one is so pretty and the dendrites really pop and that shine! Beautiful cab there! Fran

5"!!!! That is huge. I can't imagine even trying to get a dome on something that large and flat. Mine would be a bunch of flat spots with a little radius between them. Excellent work Bob.
