What an awesome weekend...so far! I was able to finish up a bunch of stuff that's been sitting and waiting patiently. I think this is quite possibly the best polish that I've been able to achieve. I don't know what I did different....maybe applied a lighter pressure while polishing on the leather pad with diamond paste. Here's the new Echostone sets. Enjoy...and Happy Easter everybody! Laguna Laguna Laguna 4th of July Butte (from Sheri...THANKS!) Laguna (little tubes and possibly sagenite sprays) Unsure if this is Laguna or possibly Coyamito. Anyone??? Just a quick pic of my display for my Echostones. I picked this up from a jewelry store closing up....FREEE! It's perfect for my Echostones as well as some of the nodules that I've been polishing.

Wow! Those cabs are amazing. You added serious depth to those cabs and there is no way I could chose one over the other as a favorite. You really outdid yourself and what a great score on that display case.

Love those echostones Steve! Banded agates from Chihuahua are really hard to separate without seeing the exterior of the uncut nodules. If I had to ID your stones just from the polished pieces, I'd say #1 is a Laguna, #2 Casas Grandes, #3 Moctazuma and the last two Coyamito. Coyamito Nodules are usually somewhat smooth on the outside with tiny pits, Moctazumas often have a fairly smooth white or tan exterior crust. CG's often have a rough black to gray crust often with green celedonite, and Lagunas are mostly pretty rough, ridged and knobby on the exterior. Problem is, the miners and sellers very often mix nodules from several digs and even Lagunas come from a bunch of different mines and often vary a lot between and within the sites. Brad Cross's excellent book," Agates of Northern Mexico" really gets into this complex identification issue...Mel

You perfected those echostones my friend, all of them are jaw-droppers! The first and the last sets are my favorites.
Your echostones collection really deserves such a classy display! And what a great deal you made!
