Woody: Great minds must think alike, ;D because I have several obsidians to cab next, but now I can't, they will never look this good!
I love the gold sheen cab, that is pretty stuff! That first Mahogany is cool too! Do you have rainbow or fireworks from Mexico? I will send you a piece if you don't have those! Great work!! And really nice photos, you finally showed that camera who is boss!

What is that old expression ... "You'll put your eye out with that!" Incedible points on a few. You could make decorative bullets, or arrowheads. Ouch!
Nice tulips in the background. I won't see ours for another month.

Really really fine looking cabs there Woody. I love the shapes on the mahogany and the gold sheen. They are so much more interesting knowing you collected all that material yourself. Do you use diamond or cerium to polish obsidian?

Wow, what a shine! Ald the shapes, they are so clean! You had courage to put such daring shapes on obsidian but they came out flawless.

Very nice cabs and variety of material. I'm looking forward to collecting some material up there this summer.

Beautiful cabs of my favorite material. It has so many different variations that you can spend a lot of time and never duplicate what you do. Great shine! Bob

What beautiful cabs! I love the 2nd gold sheen the best. Every time I read about obsidian on here, I see a new variety. It makes me want to give it a try, but I'll have a hard time picking which to use!

I polish nearly everything with cerium, and a pinch of Linde A in a mix of half mineral oil, half dish soap. This mix stays on the leather a bit better than using just water, and the oil may help keeping the obsidian cooler. I know obsidian is heat sensitive like opal, but have not had a problem with cracking. I think it takes longer polishing agate, but I am not actually sure. Woody

Very Nice Woody! Obsidian sure does have alot of different faces....it's kind of fascinating. I know I've attempted Obsidian a few times and never had success at a shine like that. I love those different shapes as well. My fav...#1 and the Midnight Lace! BTW..Nice Pics! Steve
