The index.html file that is currently there is what you see when you type in the website address. index.html is the default file that gets opened up when someone visits your website. you can rename the old one, I sometimes put a z or _ in front of the name until I am sure i don't need it any more. The code that I gave you will redirect anyone who visits the base site to your Drupal site. So in a nut shell, yes, the file needs to be replaced.

Yep, you've got it. Just as long as this is what you see.

Here's a few things I want to cure:
* When you first go to Mojave Gemstones - Home, you only see the first paragraph of the text, and there's a link below that says "Read more". I want to do away with that completely, so that all of the text is seen when you first bring-up the page.
* Is there any way I can reduce the spacing between the bottom of the Ibex Mountains pic and the page heading? There's like 3/4" of needless space there, where 1/4" would be adequate. Same with the space below the page heading. I want visitors to see what I have to say, not unnecessary white space.
* Is there a way to keep the Ibex Mountains pic on the Home page, but get rid of it on all of the rest of the pages?
* OH ... and notice in your pic that you're on the Home page but there's a Home link below the pic? LMAO I gotta get rid of that. I don't need that on any of the pages, as the Home link is in the left bar.
I couldn't figure-out how to do these things.

1 - Read more. I can't emulate that on my web sites to try and fix it, it might be the theme you are using. I will download your theme later and see if that is what's causing it.
2 - i think the white space is based on the image size, you could try shrinking the image to see if that changes things. It could also be your logo, try saving it as a PNG file, then upload it and choose the new PNG version. PNG sometimes allows overlay so you may or may not want that.
3 - No easy what I can think of, I will look into it tomorrow.
Yep, now it is getting into the tougher parts. The easy part for me is getting things up and going, but then you spend alot of time making small tweaks. ;D

I created that logo from a pic of agate from Agate Road. I just chose the area and cropped it to the same size as the stock logo and added the text, and it IS a png file. It DID overlap the Ibex pic, so I made the bottom few rows of pixels in the logo white, to give a 1 pixel spacing between the logo and the pic. If you place your cursor over the logo, you can see the outlined overlap. I just used the easy way that I knew how to "fix" the "problem".
I took that Ibex Mountains pic last December, hanging out of the window of my truck. Again, I cropped it to be the same size as the stock pic, and retained the jpg format. I like it on the front page, but it's in the way on the rest of the pages. If it's a matter of all or none, I'd choose none, though. I could add it in the "body" of the front page after the fact.
The theme is called "Earthen". I chose it because it's uncluttered, relatively simple, the colors suit the site, and it's track record indicates that it's very stable, with hardly any problems. I'm very happy with it, so whatever I want to change that I can, I will, but I'll just have to live with whatever I can't "fix".
Now that I'm beginning to understand the steps that you've led me through, I can see why the minor tweaks are harder. I imagine they're within the code of the theme itself.
Thanks again for all of your help, guidance, and patience. I'm VERY happy with the results!
