Howdy folks, Just a few more pics of endcuts from that last box I opened. I think maybe I've posted shots of slabs off the Dryheads before but these would be the outside of the nodules. The first pic I hope HPD will give a look because I know I got this in Oregon but damned if I can remember where and the label has fallen off. Thanks for looking.....Mel The Oregon mystery plume: Lace is always a favorite of mine because there is so much variety: Boy I found two more hunks of Wingate rough plus this wild endcut: A end cut off a Tee pee canyon: And some Dryhead end pieces. For those of you making the trek to the Billings show this summer, don't miss the Bear Canyon agate fieldtrip ( imagine Dryhead in black, white and blue!) and if you get an extra or two, I'd love to trade for a couple. This type I found in only one layer of the dig closer to the surface and in a lighter brown/greenish limestone. Love the plume like pattern in the center of the cut.

Very nice material! That Wingate is awesome. The first piece is a tough one to ID. The black plume area in the center looks a lot like old Hay Creek Plume, but I've never seen it with the white plumy edges like that.

I hope you never get to the end of the boxes you haven't unpacked yet. It's too much fun looking at all the rocks you are bringing out.

Wow Mel, Those are candy to the eyes!!! I agree with Dan that Wingate is breath taking...I'm stumped on that first one too. Are the Black Plumes simular to Bishop ranch from Texas??? The white plume reminds me of stuff that is pretty common near Mitchell but never seen one with Black Plumes...Thanks for sharing the pics!!!

Dale & Dan: I know that plume is from my big Oregon/Idaho trip though, as you've said, it does resemble some of the Marfa, Texas stuff. I was caught in a thunderstorm when I was moving stuff into storage during the move and darned if I didn't get some of my rock boxes wet ( was too concerned with the comic books and the guns and swords *L*) and lost a bunch of labels. I'm thinking this piece was a weird on from the graveyard Point area I hunted but with the dense black plume I kind of doubt that. I know I found some oddball stuff on that trip but it might be something I bought along the way too. I know I hit every rockshop I encountered on that trip *L*. Dang CRS sucks!
