... I just can't be bothered to check the batches I have tumbling at the moment. Really, I have totally lost the will. There are 2 batches in 60/80 which are now 2 weeks overdue checking/recharging, and there are two batches, one each in 220 and 400 grits both of which are now over three weeks overdue. This evening I have got together the last set of pendants and bell caps ready for gluing tomorrow. After those there are no more ready to make. Today, I stoned up 4 gem trees. 2 using Snow Quartz, one in Citrine and one in Turquoise. Now there are only 5 trees left Two are on bases ready to have the stones/gems added, and three that are waiting to be base mounted and then gemmed up. After that there is no more wire either Is there a way to PIF inspiration and motivation?

I've totally been there...frequently. I go through cycles, especially with cabbing and wrapping. I'll get on a kick where I can every single day. And then I won't touch my machine for weeks. I haven't wrapped a piece in over two weeks!

HI !! Rogue, lately i've been in same boat . but , ironically i've discovered that ,getting caught up in the busy-ness of life & leaving rocks go much longer in a step . is what some might call PATIENCE & the end result is much smoother stones than you would have had i you done it "right". and you might be able to skip a stage of grit . and also save a little cash by not having to buy as much grit. just my outlook :2cents: :2cents: --trying to put a silver lining on the cloud that i call BUSY ! -------------paul

I was thinking the same thing. Because grit breaks down and becomes a finer grit, your tumblers are still working hard for you when you have the chance to play with them. Jo

Some people have went for months without ever opening the barrel, they just let them keep running. I wish that I could remember who. There's been a few times that I've lost interest in certain aspects of this hobby, like the time I went for almost two years without doing any wire wrapping. It always comes back.

All artists suffer from a block from time to time, you wouldn't be one if you didn't.

You are not alone my friend! We all feel that way from time to time. Our rocks usually forgive us for a bit of neglect though and sometimes benefit from it. It will hit you again soon, I am sure. Fran

Been there for about a year go in the workshop move stuff around clean up, dust and dead bugs. Lock it up and leave it. There's things I need to change all I have to do is, do it, but the get up and goes got up and gone. I'll be right tho, just a matter of time. Same goes for you. Just a matter of time.

Right there with you. Now I just let the tumblers roll. I check mine about once a month and guess what, everything is still there. I have actually cut out a few steps. I run 60/90, 120/240 and go straight to polish after that. I let the 120/240 run for about 2 months sometimes longer and they come out better that running thru all the steps. With 2 jobs, sawing, cutting cabs and silver work there is never enough time for the tumblers
