Awhile back 150fromfundy asked me if I would like some slabs that he had been collecting on his trips. He said that he doesn't cab and was curious how they would shine up, and wanted to share them with the board. He sent a huge box maybe 20 pounds worth of slabs form 7 different areas that he had collected in, the shipping is $40/box, so I paid for the shipping and told him I would make him some cabs since he basically sent the material for free. He is a really nice guy andI have not seen him on here lately. I think he is offering the deal to anyone that might be interested, just send him a PM. I think Susan (Bouldergal) also got a box from him and was pleased as well!
So thank you Fundy!!!! The slabs are so pretty I had some trouble with some being pity and some operator error! I was amazed by the diversity of colors and hardness of some of the slabs, beautiful, I am anxious to make more, since I messed some of these up! I had them all labeled form the locations, but some of the marker wore off and now I am confused!!! LOL It was a wonderful project and I look forward to trying some more. I wanted to do a few from each area to show how different the material is.
So here they are! Tony also took some of the slabs and made some cabs so that we can send a half dozen or so to Fundy!
Wasson's Bluff
Cape Sharp
Partridge Island
Spicer Island
Spicer Island- My favorite of the bunch
Cap d'Or-this was so cool too, it reminded me of a moss egg!
Cap d'Or
Horseshoe Cove
Cape Sharp
These next 2 were special ones for Fundy and the Mrs, I know they both enjoy gardening, and these reminded me of poppy japers or flowers, well the one was chippy and broke apart, and the other a big chunk came out on the polish, I was so bummed!
I loved these 2 and they were the only slabs of this material!
Mc Kay
Cape Sharp
I forget??
And then heartache, this one was so nice and got really shiny well the darn thing broke when I froze it trying to get it off the dop stick! Maybe I can glue it though! Bummer!!!
Enjoy,
Amber
