Had both saws running today Anyone know what this is? Not palm or bone. Looks to me like Owyhee Jasper Nice looking agate nodule. Anyone know a name? Great looking Sagenite Curt

#1 sure looks alot like South Texas Palm. #2??? #3??? #4 looks alot like the Sagenite Tony Krahmer brought of the dry playa lakes in Northern Chihuahua several decades ago.

#1 Yup it looks just like palm, but any way you cut it, it still has the perfectly round little dots. #4 Could very well be the sagenite you're talking about. This was collected about 30 years ago.

OK, I found it. #1 is oolitic jasper. A fossil, kinda sorta.

The agate nodule looks like it might be Amazon Valley Jasper, unless it's transparent...and then you're back to square one.

Yep Curt, definitely oolitic jasper on the first one. #2 I don't know, #3, My guess would be an Indian Whiteskin/yellowskin nodule and the sagenite is definitely the Chihuahua stuff as I have some just like it around somewhere.....Mel

Is there oolitic jasper as well as chert? I have some of the chert but never heard of the jasper.
