I set up the saw last night in the backyard. Soaking wet from head to tow, it was fun! So far the neighbors have not complained.
I proceeded to cut up some snowy quartz I got as a gift. I cut this up for tumbling rough and this evening I am going to try to slab some of the other pieces.
I then started to saw up tumbling rough of the goodies I got from Nature. I believe these are Citrine and the others I am not sure. I am keeping them in their own bowls. I will also try to do some small slabs from each rock.
What I would like to do is get at least a full batch of each and then take pictures to post on the rock ID board. I am such a visual learner and since their are so many different kinds of rocks and colors, I thought not only would help me, but help others as well.
After I got done with my backyard shower, I sat down with the gorgeous slabs I got from Fran and drew out both free hand and ruler for cabs.
I will try to do some trimming tonight as well.
As always ...

You're really rolling now! Are you still using the same dress code outside? That last box I sent was mixed quartz. Blue, smoky, citrine, rose, whites and browns. Some are mixed colors and many have inclusions of minerals causing floaters and such. All collected around here. Should be a hardness around a 7, but there is some variation of hardness within that group I sent, so you are being smart to go through them and sort them. Glad you are having fun with them. Jo
