Howdy folks,
I've tried a lot of blades on the Workforce and they've ranged from $5.00 internet cheapies called workforce to $25.00 blades like the Dewalt Husky etc. Haven't tried the more expensive Hotdogs. Anyway, none of the replacements worked as well or cut as smooth as the one that came with the initial saw purchase but today I tried a MK HDTCM wet tile blade I picked up from the rental area ( on display) at the Home depot back in Calif. Was cutting baby Hauser Bed T -eggs to tumble for the kids and this blade works very well. It has a smooth continuous rim and cut those eggs like butter with no sparks and a smooth cut. I managed to cut about 60 eggs about 1" each before a huge lightning storm took out my power and it started raining too hard and the blade shows little wear. I used a Husky for the same sort of thing and it cut rougher than a cob, sparked heavily even with a water hose in the tray, and wore out in one session. I'll post some pics of the little eggs in a bit but for about $10 a pop, this is a nice blade so I thought I'd pass along this info.....Mel

Thanks for the info, Mel. I'm going to try one if I can locate it at my local Home Depot.

Mel, I'll take your word for just about anything on this board. So I just ordered 3 of them from Home Depot online. ;D
Thanks. Tom

Yeah Chuck, The numbers on my pack don't seem to match those on their site. Mine has the code 157913 for the model which looks like it might conform to the MK 200, MK 215 on your list as it's for wet cutting tile and marble. I did check the Home Depot site though and they still have it as the MK HDTCM for about $9.00 each...Mel

That's funny that you don't like the Husky as that's my favorite blade. I don't have any trouble with sparking with those. They don't cut as smooth as a Hotdog but they are half the price. I'll have to try this one and see how it works.

Tony, Yeah, I think it's because the Husky blade has that sort of corrugated sidewall where the diamond is which I think exposes more steel to make sparks. I kind of prefer the smooth sintered diamond sort of rim because it makes a cleaner cut with less chipping and the side of the sintered portion is almost like a grinding wheel and can be used effectively to smooth off those nubs where the workpiece breaks free. So far, this cheaper blade seems to be about as aggressive in the cut as the Husky's but longer lasting. Time will tell I guess but for $9.00 I'm really liking this blade so far....Mel

Hmm, my Husky blades aren't corrugated on the sides. I often use the sides to do some pregrinding on the cabs to get them close to shape since my 100 grit wheel is pretty much worn out. Maybe we don't have the same blade. I'll look up what I have and maybe post a picture later.

I was at HD the other day and checked their blade selection. Not much to choose from. I'll have to go see if they're by the rental section. If not I can get 2 of these with shipping for the price of one locally. Thanks for letting us know about this deal Mel!
