A while back Steve posted a pic asking what type of rock he had and my eyes almost popped out of my head when I saw it was a 20lb chunk of Guadalupe poppy jasper. Long story short, we made a trade and just last week I decided to get my 18" saw running again and took a couple of slabs off to see how it looked inside. Other than the obvious fractures, the rest of the rock is solid and has a wide variety of colors. I'm always looking for this material and the largest I've ever seen was around 4", and just in slabs, never a chunk that big. Okay, so here's the slab. Notice it's sitting on top of a compact disc case for size reference. And a close up.

Wow! The first thing that came to my warped mind was, "Hunka hunka burnin' ...." LOL!
That should make around 6-8 really nice cabs!

Awesome! It's been a long time since I've seen a hunk of that stuff of any size and that piece is loaded with different colors too. Wow!....Mel

That has so many possibilities for cabs in it! That would be the hardest part for me. Deciding where to cut. I am really looking forward to seeing the outcome! Fran
