Got a chance today to slab my rocks from "The World" pile that I got from "The Dump" at the Sterling Hill Mining Museum last week. ( forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/index.cgi?board=Pictures&action=display&thread=32958&page=1 ) The cuts look kinda rough because they are and boy was I was having words with my saw! Good thing Home Depot just reduced the price on a new WF, I told it! Anyway, here are some slabs from rocks that came from all over the world. If anybody knows any specific names, just holler 'em out please. Cool Jasper piece that looks like it has a lightning bolt. After seeing this one piece, I'm gonna wait til I get a new blade to do the rest of this rock. Cool looking red agate. This was pretty neat, kinda stained glass effect. Crazy red lace, or, red Crazy Lace. Golden lacy, Crazy Lace Awesome greens from two different rocks. Ones on left have a Ruby in Zoisite kinda look, preshaped some below. Preshapes for cabs. Fluorite on left, possible Chrysacolla top center, red agate from the second pic, greens from the last pic on the right, and Wonderstone bottom center. Thanks for lookin'. Jo

Y'all scored some nice stuff! Those slabs are all looking good. The green stuff looks to me (and what the heck do I know anyway?) a lot like it might be mariposite. I have a bunch of the stuff that I got from somebody somewhere, can't remember - probly either eBay or the Rock Shed.

Looks like some really cool stuff Jo! I really can't tell what the greens are. The ones on the right look a little like some plasma agate I have. It is a bit softer than other agates I have cut. Just can't tell for sure. Looks like you will have some beautiful cabs! Fran
