yep ralph was busy again this weekend. If you remember the small slabs i put it awhile back, here's the cabs from those. I think they are a mixture of quartz, gem silica, a touch of chrysocolla. Thats my guess. I could be wrong. The last one is turquoise. ty mary ann

Very pretty. That teal blue color is quite striking.

Oh holy cow! Gem silica like that is about as rare as hen's teeth. Those first three are outstanding examples! One of the reasons I love this forum is I get to see all the unusual regional finds made by our members......Mel

Mary Ann, I've only seen a very few pieces and most were more more solidly color saturated than your examples but I'd say yes to your question. By definition, gem silica is chalcedony saturated with copper minerals giving it those nice blue colors. Your examples may be less saturated than some but the blue fortified and banded effect is certainly nice....Mel

Love the tall skinny shapes that Ralph put on these, they are almost as pretty as that stone. Amber and I still each have a piece of that to cab. Hopefully we can do as well as Ralph.

Electric, that blue is electric and Neon. Maryann, is Ralph glowing like those cabs? He should be with pride.
