Howdy folks, Still having rainy weather here in south Texas so I'm still cutting. Finished two on the wheels so far today and one ready for the tumbler experiments. Here are the two finished ones. Thanks for looking.....Mel Dang sky got dark when I photographed this one I guess. This is the lace variety called Fine Lined Lace out of Mexico. Love to work all the crazy laces except zebra lace which pretty much sucks. This cab is about 43 x 33 MM. This one took a long time as this material, Bloody Basin Plume out of Arizona can be pretty problematic. It went pretty well except for a couple of calcite spots on the center right edge which did not polish out as well as the rest. The two gray spots near the tip are reflection off the tripod and camera. This one is about 53 X 43 MM. Oh yeah, Interesting to note that this is one of the only two plume varieties I've encountered where the plumes appear constructed of little overlapping plates or scales ( the other being Cady Mtns Fluorite Mine Plume). It gives them a weird square look, not as feathery as a lot of plume.

Beautiful work again Mel. Send some of that rain to Wisconsin, we could really use it!

I'm glad to see you're taking some time to cut cabs again Mel. These two as well as the cabs in your other posts are top notch.

Wow Mel, You have to sit and really look at these a long time because there is so much going on in them! The lace is great but when you look at all the plumes in the Bloody Basin, it is overwhelming! You have to really look at it to see all the depth and variety in there. Fran
