I got lucky on this 16.6# piece of Succor Creek Jasper when nobody else bid on it. I received it last Friday. I guess my eyes were bigger than my saw is. My saw is a workforce so part of the breakdown will have to involve cutting grooves in this doorstop and carefully trying to split it with chisels till I get something I can work with. Any tips are appreciated.

Wow. That's exactly why I only buy slabs. ;D My Workforce and I don't really get along all that well, so trimming preforms is about the best I can do.
However, "riverbendlapidary" on this board could probly cut it up for you. I think he charges by the square inch for cuts. You might PM him and see what's up. He's up on the north side of Canyon Lake.

I love slabbing, if you lived closer I would slab it for you.

That's a nice lookin' big ole chunk there! I think carefully cutting grooves then chiselin' them like you said should result in some workable sized pieces. Good luck and have fun!
