I've been wondering how a man could wear a cab and not look too "out of place". Seeing Steve's thread about his necklaces made me curious as to how others wear them. I've seen a few people's trip threads with guys wearing them, but nothing really close up to show detail or scale.
I plan on eventually searching when I have more time, but for now I'd like to hear peoples opinions and maybe see some examples of work done for guys.
Thank you all in advance.
Nate

The two classics are bolos and belt buckles.

Can't remember who it was, maybe Randy, but someone here did a great looking wrap in simulated barbed wire pattern. Someone will probably remember it. It made a very cool and masculine looking pendant.....Mel

I have about 15 or so that I wear. All have glue on bails. One or two have a metal bead on either side of the cab but most are just plain. If I get a chance tonight I'll take some pics and post them. Been meaning to do that for about a year now. lol

Thanks for the replies everyone. Tony, you're one of the guys I've seen pictures of wearing them. I think Adrian was the other. I'd like to see the pics.
That wrap sounds interesting Mel, I'll have to search it out.
Stardiamond, I'm not much into bolos, but I would wear a belt buckle. Gonna make one for my Dad, maybe I'll make myself one too.
Thanks,
Nate

Dennis wears wraps as well. In my opinion, stones look more "masculine" if they are more angled rather than rounded......such as squares, triangles, rectangles etc. Also, the wrap must be very simple, no frills or swirls etc. The groove wraps work well for this.

I think Jo (naturenut) is the one that had a barbed men's cab and it looked great! That will be my next challenge. Try to make some cabs my son's would wear. Fran

If I could do silver work like some folks around here I would wear stuff all the time!

It was Randy's, Here it is: and here's the thread about it: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/index.cgi?board=wwp&action=display&thread=19298I think that groove wraps can look very handsome on men. Adrian and Saskrock are two artists that come to mind that have some real nice ones that a man would be proud to wear, and Amber and Tony made some groove wraps using black wire that really look sharp for men. Bill wears one that is a dark blue agate that is triangular in shape with an epoxied anaraku bail. Jo

Steelandstone, it's apparent that you also do your own silversmithing. Those are all quite nice, and things that I would wear on occasion. I say "on occasion" because I do wear a medical alert necklace when I'm going to do any extensive driving, and after a couple of hours, I start feeling an intense urge to remove it.

Tom Thank you, and I hear ya. I have some chains I wear that after a few hours they come off for a bit or I will switch chains.

Great examples guys. I love the silver work steelandstone! Nate Thank you, It's been a while since I took torch to metal (about 3 months) so I am really looking forward to gearing up for the holiday show season. Hopefully I will have some new designs to show here soon.

Nate: I gotta get on Tony to post his necklaces! As mentions I think the groove wraps work well and I like them with the black wire for dudes! I think manly stones and manly shapes! Like a pink oval?? Maybe not so good, LOL!!!! Will keep working on Tony! And you are going to make me dig for old posts! LOL Amber
