Here's the latest cabs and jewelry pieces I've created lately. The Portland Regional is going on and I've been real busy with that. I have two cases in. My competitive case took first place in the CC-2 category. My brother, Jason and his son, Roadcut are in town for a ten day visit and I taught them to cut cabs. Their first cabs are below. We also ran into Shannon and Wolf at the show. She gave me an awesome piece of Agate Creek agate from Australia. I worked it up last night. Guadalupe Poppy Jasper pendant and bolo: I made this matching set for Becky and I to wear to the show. Rattlesnake Jasper: I cut the bolo to wear to the show this weekend. Chrysoprase pendant: Backlit it looks more green Amazonite Roadcut's first three cabs Training on the pre-former Piranha agate (from Amber): He loved this piece and bravely drew out a big 1.5" diameter circle for his first cab. Deschutes Picture Jasper: These are his next two cabs. Jason's first two cabs: Unknown: I'm not sure what this stuff is, but man it's hard.. Carey Moss Now, some special pieces I cut this week: Inca Rose Rhodochrosite Pink Pony Butte moss: Looks much better in person Texas Plume and my favorite, Agate Creek agate (from Shannon) ...shine on....

Oh, wow! Words cannot express the beauty of these cabs! And Roadcut IS a natural TALENT, that round cab is perfect and so beautiful!
Rattlesnake jasper is my favorite material in this batch. It looks a bit like pet wood.

I got hooked young cutting bloodstone and wildhorse, and I loved my mentor. That young man must think you hang the moon!! Awesome work all around, and I can't say I'm surprised at you winning any competitions, but congratulations on your recognition. You deserve it.

Dan: We can all see that not only does Roadcut have a natural talent, but also a very good instructor............there are many of us that would be very proud to say our first cabs were any way near that good.
Congratulations on the first place, I am not surprised, but still pleased to see that you took first. Your work is so outstanding, plus your selection of material, and composition are always top shelf.

Dan: Congrats on winning, if you didn't win I was going to kick some judge's butt! Wow I have been away too long, where to start? Well that Rattlesnake is just too cool, man that would make a great pair of boots, LOL!! The rhodochrosite is killer!!! Roadcut- now what an awesome guy, and how lucky is he getting lessons from the pro! Looks like he is on the road to cabbing fun! Hope you and the family have an enjoyable visit!!!! Amber

Hi Dan, I can't begin to pic a fav, but that 1st Deschutes is mind boggling. What a pattern! Tell Roadkill he did a fantastic job & I'm really impressed. But every one of these is gorgeous.
Thanks for sharing.
