Howdy folks, Well phase 1 of the great tumbled cab experiment came out of the polish today. I'm very pleased with most of them. The shine, which doesn't show too well in these full sun pics, came out mirror bright after two weeks in Rockshed AO polish. These were all shaped on the wheels, spent five days in dry fine grind in the minisonic vibe, two weeks in tripoli in the 33B rotary and two weeks in the polish. The white lines at the bottom of each cab are the reflection of the tripod legs. Thanks for looking.....Mel
Three bots:
Three Laguna. The clear looking one has incredible turtleback in the clear area and the yellow one has some little lines from undercutting.
Couple of Moctazumas off the same nodule:
Aussie chrysoprase and a end cut off a fire agate I just threw in with little extra work.
Dryhead, Tee Pee Canyon and a small Condor:
Couple of my favorites, Cady Mountains Fluorite Mine Plume and Psilomelane Plume from Mexico. This one needs a little more cleaning up as it had a couple of pits that caught polish. Red and shining silver is a great combo though.
Moss agate from Teanaway, Washington and a crappy old cab of Yermo Dump Picture Rock from Calif. I threw in just for the heck of it.
Arizona Wood and Mary Ellen stromatolite jasper. Much nicer than it looks and one of my favorites from this batch.
Two Woodward Plumes and a Marfa Black and White agate all from Texas:
Two more of my favorites, Halloween Jasper from Challis, Idaho and Royal Imperial Jasper in an odd blue green color:
And finally, the stinky failure from this batch, Aussie Tiger iron. Hate this stuff as little bits always fall out creating pits etc. I may try to recut it but will probably just chuck it in the kiddie pile.
