Dwight, I'm sorry this is a bad time of year for you but hang in here with us and let us try to cheer you up. If that doesn't work, then let this guy be your attitude. *smile* He's showing everyone what I think of winter. Maybe I should put hum bug on each cheek, then he could be a cheeky little bugger. ![](http://www.rosebudm.com/images/snowbutt.gif)

Dwight, for many years, Christmas was one of the worst times I could experience. It wasn't the things, it was a broken spirit, a broken heart, and a feeling of futility and hopelessness. I had everything material and I just wanted to die. It has been too many miles and too few smiles later. It is better. Not easier, better. It has been an endless string of dead ends, bouts of homelessness, faild relationships, faild shops, well intentioned lies, emptyness that never ends. Today is not like that. One day, you might have the same peace. It does get better, but not easier.

Mark, some WAV files play automatically when you open up a web page. That's what I meant by adding some festive music

Go build a gingerbread house out of Morrisonite. EDIT: I was just trying to be funny but when I came back and read this again it looked like a smartass comment (looked almost like I was telling someone where to go).

Boy can I relate to feeling 'down' during the holidays. Our family hasn't gotten together for holidays in several years, and mom and dad are both in the care center now, so it's just not the same as 'going home'. I've spent the last few years at home alone on Thanksgiving, X-mas and New Year's Eve. Can't wait till it's over. I love the decorations on this board.

I want to put some wavs up - but today ive been learning the scroll saw and its intricacies. I just cant seem to follow the blumin line on a curve ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Making a bird table for mom for xmas - and her old one had little arches supporting the roof - so I wanted to replicate that but my arches are more like higgledpiggledy holes if you know what I mean. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Have you ever tried to have xmas in mid summer? It just is not the same not even after 36 years here at the bottom of the world. But I would not change it for anything. We have had several xmas dinners already , 6 so far . Some pressies have been given and unpacked due to people moving about.
Have a great xmas all. Thanks go to Mark for the interesting flotations .

Dwight I used to get all caught up in the Christmas Hype- then one evening (please do not think I'm preaching- I'm just telling a story that changed my outlook) I went to a Christmas service- The wife talked me into it- Well this Young girl sang "Oh Holy Night" while her father played Guitar- Her voice was so incredible- The passion and love she put into singing that song- Made me cry (still brings tears to my eyes) and I finially really got what it all meant- Not presents or spending or any of that stuff- It is about the birth of a child who would go on to change the world- Nothing else truelly matters-
