Mary Ann, The Variscite in pics #1, 2 4 and 5 look like Utah stuff. Lucin Area. I have a small piece similar to that #4 and I thought it was called Spiderweb Variscite. Isn't the Bling-Bling stiff Peacock Ore?? No idea what the last stuff is...but I'm sure Mel will chime in. I'd love to know if Variquoise and Spiderweb are the same thing. Steve

Someone told me variquoise mimics turquoise but has same chemical makeup as variscite. Only found in one place in Utah. A very nice lady mines a similar material in No. Nevada and calls it "Apache Turquoise". She gets very angry if anyone says it isn't turquoise and as variquoise is rarer she should be pleased.

"Variquoise" ..... now that's a good name. Makes me think I should market one of my legs - they are full of variquoise veins! LOL!
It is pretty stuff, whatever it's called.

Nice stuff. The blue looks quite a bit like some Ellensburg I got from the person who collected it, it doesn't at all look like my pcs of holly blue.

Mary Ann, My piece doesn't have any yellow in it. I have seen it with yellow in it. I wonder what causes the different coloring or staining. Maybe it has some sort of sulphur in it. I've noticed when I slice or grind any variscite it smells like rotten eggs. Steve
