Tony (catmandewe) delivered a 16" slab saw to my house Wednesday morning. almost every awake hour I have been home since then has been spent cutting slabs; I have been having a blast. These photos were taken Saturday morning. A friend asked me to cut these quartz slabs for her. They turned out better than I thought they would. More of my friend's quartz. I was told this is petrified wood from Stinking Water, Oregon. It is really nice material. My wife's uncle gave me a lot of this material for some computer work. Most of this was cut on my 10 inch saw. It was in the slab bucket along with some tumbling material so I thought I would show it also. Agate pieces from Carey, Idaho. These were cut with the 10 inch saw also. More 10 inch saw slabs. Stinking Water slab on house plant leaf. My new saw and current favorite toy. I found this river tumbled material near Bruneau, Idaho last spring after rain caused flash flooding and exposed many agate like pieces. I have been waiting for a saw big enough to cut it. I love the gneiss pattern in this piece. That is why I picked it up.

Glad the saw is working out well for you. Let's see some pics of that river-tumbled rock.

Looks like you're off to a great start.16 inch is a good size, mine can take an 18 inch blade but I haven't needed it yet. Those slabs look great.

Nice cuts! Tony said you were excited about the saw. Did you notice any rock missing from your garage? I may have pocketed a few (just kidding) LOL. Cant wait to get our saw from Tony going.
Oh, and great idea........the orange buckets you have. After sitting up on Graveyard Point constantly saying "where is my black bucket?" I can see the value in bright orange ones.

Toad and Nancy, More slab pictures are available including slabs from that rock at the following post. forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=sawingb&thread=33709Shannon, I don't think I would notice a rock or two missing form my garage unless it was something real special and then only when I went looking for it. The orange buckets are much better for collecting rocks in because you can see them for quite a distance. I have wasted a lot of time looking for white buckets I left behind only to find them on the other side of a rock or bush that I walked past a dozen times. I get them from Home Depot. When I first purchased them they cost almost $5.00 each, now they are down to $2.39.

I'm using a saw almost identical to your's. It cuts slow and my wife gets upset in I stand and watch it cut. I'm retired and have the time. Lots of slabs to keep you busy. Debby & Tom
