After I stopped agitating over my dead vibe, I separated the batch that I had in it. Here are the preforms that are "finished", or almost finished. I guess I'll call them done, at least until my vibe is fixed or I get a new one. First, a set of cabs of "fisheye jasper", and the slab I cut them from This one seems to be obsidian. Plus the slab it came from. Pet wood Some kind of blackish mossish Montanaish pretty agate Backlit Flat Some Ocean Jaspers and part of their parent Another pet wood, I think, plus its parent slab - seems like some of it must have been soft, because it pretty much went away. Obviously, these could all use a little more time in the vibe, if only it hadn't died. Thanks for looking, Tom

That's alright Tom, they still look good! You'll get your vibe fixed, and be off and running again soon!

That fish eye jasper is really neat! But the first pet wood is my favorite. It really jumped out at me.....and into my pocket ;D ! Susan

Nice stuff! Get a vibe. My Lyman has been running for several years now. The only thing to wear out are the bowls. It is a heavy duty shell cleaning vibe for reloading, and works great for rocks. Didn't cost but 65 bucks including shipping from Cabelas. T

Those look great Tom and I almost think that is a black pet wood for the round one but I can't really tell by the picture but since it is holding up with the others, I am not sure if it would be obsidian. The black and white plumes...I just can't remember the name of it but it sure is beautiful! Maybe someone will chime in and tell us what it is. I have a UV 10 and the hard part is waiting till I have enough stones ready to fill it. I see that the rock shed now has a UV 3. If it is heavy duty, that may be the way to go if you can't get yours fixed. My Raytech TV 5 died like that. Nothing down the center, just would not turn back on and everything is hot glued into place so I couldn't even remove the springs to get to anything. The warranty only lasted 3 months from what my paperwork said...hmmm. Fran

Tom; I know the feeling my new lotto vibe died 8 days after I got it, take some of these and finish them by hand, you have some nice stones and shapes here. The fish eye is very cool!!!!!! Amber

Fran - that round black one - it has absolutely no pattern in it, it's solid jet black, and is probably a 6.5 or 7 MOH's. If it isn't obsidian, then I'm at a loss - I also have some battleship gray pieces that, except for color, are otherwise exactly the same material. Don't have a clue what they are.
I will call Covington tomorrow and see what they say about my dead vibe - should still be in warranty, but I did take it apart, so that probably voids it. Just paid for a good used vibe from stoneviews, anyway, so when it gets here, I'll be back in business.

Shame about the vibe but I'm sure the one from Clint will work well, he keeps his stuff looking and running like it just came out of the box. I like that Montanaish thing the best.

Tony - yep, I really like the backlit agate also. I'm kinda hoping maybe Mel will take a look here and tell me what its name really is - I'm sure he'll know.
