You might get tired of cutting these someday, but I don't think I'll ever tire of seeing the pics. Love that stone - even when there is little or no fire, it's just interesting every time.

Boy you sure do get an outstanding shine on your BO. I've always avoided it because I thought it was a tough one to polish.....Mel

I don't think that will happen anytime soon because just like Tony I am drawn to these things like a moth to a flame. And your right about if they have fire or not they just have so much to look at. They are like unwrapping a little present from nature every time you start peeling away the outer crust

That one has a ton of pattern to it and you got a nice shine on it.
Mel, I've found that not all BO is created equal. Some times the matrix is soft, other times hard. The hard stuff can take a darn fine polish.

Steeland Stone: I am sorry I forget your first name? Your opal is always polished so well, what do you use to finish it? As Tony said, some has a harder matrix and that seems to polish well, others are just like mud, I love it too, I just wish it wasn't so messy! Opals of all kinds are definitely one of the more alluring stones. Can't wait to see how you set this, I so enjoy your silver designs. They are so original and exciting. Amber

Thats a beauty, Phil! An unusual pattern in that one, and like you say, always interesting is the opal I'll look forward to seeing them set. Post the others too, if you please T

That is a beautiful stone! I love the intricacy of it - it kinda draws you in, wanting to see more detail.

Amber Amber, Thank you, After taking the stones to 3000 on the nova wheels I always finish them up with 8000, 14000, 50000, diamond paste on the black poly-tex wheels. As soon as I can save up some more money I will get the 14000 and 50000 nova wheels. Phil
