Hi Folks,
I have been putting together some new laps for my flat lap (with my husbands help). Now, for the felt or leather that have been attached to the mother lap and have had diamond paste added, do you use them like you would use a polishing pad by just moistening them with a spray bottle or do you use a drip system with them? After finally getting them together, I don't want to ruin the diamond surface after I finally have them put together. Thanks for the help! Fran

Fran,
I always used diamond extender fluid when I used diamond paste.

I just use silicon spray when I used diamond paste. It works the same as extender fluid.

you just want to dampen the lap . i use about half a cap full of extender fluid . if you use a drip system you'll wash away the diamonds.

Some days are gold, some are rocks. Either is cool.

Thank you so much! I have only used cerium Oxide on a felt pad before so I wasn't sure. Now I will have to try them out this weekend and at least get them up to a 14000 grit. Wish me luck! Fran
