Gotta say my Fav has to be the 1st Chevron Amethyst. I'm not a huge fan of Amethyst....but that one is unlike I have ever seen. It's sort of like a Picture Amethyst...I could Look at thing All DaY! Beautiful, as always! The Calico, the 2nd unknown and the Honduran opal are my favorites. Is the "fish eye" some fossil rock?

"Blown away" was a good warning, this is sensory overload. It did not take but a millisecond to see why my wife called, and told me to have a look at these cabs. Becky sure found a nice piece at Bear Creek. Woody

Another great set of cabs. Really like the Utah moss and the Honduran opal - how stable is that material? Thanks for the great pics.

Fantastic set as always Dan. Your your wife found one heck of a nodule, that stuff is stunning. That Leather's Ranch Plume is beautifully unique. That Honduran steals the show though, so much color. It must have cost you a small fortune.

Wow Dan. Amazing work. I'm glad you're running the halloween contest, and not in it LOL!!! I have a chunk of ammy. A friend mined in canada and brchunks back. I've thought about cabbing it but was unsure how it would hold up. I have it on the hit list now, as yours is gorgeous.

Is the "fish eye" some fossil rock? Adrian Adrian: I'm not sure if the fish eye is fossilized material. It was quite hard and took a better polish than I thought it would. The eye's are a bit softer than the matrix and can undercut if not careful. Toad: The Honduran opal is stabilized. The slab had been treated by the miner with some kind of sealant. It had a "sweet" polymer like smell when grinding. I also sealed it with Hot stuff before pre-polish. Nate: The chevron ametyst can be brittle and fracture at the inerface lines. I heated and sealed the backside of this stone with the low viscosity hot stuff (red) before dopping it. I also sealed the top before pre-polish. Dan
