Thanks, folks! Hey, Fran....yes it is hard to get that stuff to polish up, but I kept going over it with the higher grits until I got the thing to shine Mel, this is very soft and just chock full of mica bits. I can see where it would be great in granite, as it would be hard. Is your counter full of a zillion mica slivers? Looks like the bulk of the rain may go west and north of me like that last flooding rains. YOu just never know when these things come ashore. They had 15 inches a few counties north and west of me, and I only got 4 3/4, so I dodged the bullet that time. We'll see what tomorrow brings... Tony

Good to hear ya made it safely so far Tony. Beautiful cabs too. I like the garnet/mica schist too. Of course that lab is sweet and the BO is too...
