I had a customer request a piece of rainbow obsidian and I slabbed up a dozen smaller pieces of obsidian looking for a piece of rainbow, but all I found so far was midnight lace and green banded. I finally broke down and went and got my one known big chunk of rainbow to cut a slice off of it. This is it in the 30" saw. The colors in this are awesome!! A closer shot The only shot using flash that didn't show only black or just a big flash of light. This is gonna make some awesome projects! Have a great day............Tony

Is that Glass Butte material or Davis Creek? Looks to me like Oregon material. Davis Creek usually has a velvet "look" to the exterior of the stone. The collection I just bought had some outstanding California Rainbow! Can't wait to get it cut up for the knappers. I thinnk next summer I might head back down and dig another load of davis creek material. Also will hit Thundereggs at Crane creek while there Jason

Jason, It is an Oregon piece, but not from Glass Butte, he told me where he got it, but I can't remember where he said now.
Yeah Steve, that is part of the one that was out in my driveway that I accidentally cracked open.

Tony,
A Knapper on the Knappers-R-Us Forum was looking for Midnight Lace, I posted your E-Mail over there . He wanted some uncut rough.
