Wow...that's a tough decision. You did awesome with the shapes and designs. I like #2 or #3. It is always fun seeing what everyone else thinks. Whatever you decide it will be fantastic...cuz nothing but all winners there Dan. Steve

i've been looking at #3 too. The blue in the top right just seems right. #4 or #5 would leave enough to get another cab.

I don't want to complicate things, but #4 is the best alignment of the pattern. It offers the most "spider web" and preserves the blue.
However, #3 is the more pleasing shape. So, how about #3 transposed on #4?
Boy, am I opinionated, but you did ask. You are are a true Planner.

ok, have a look. I think it has less balance. Maybe a little length off the bottom.

The last one, definitely.

Now I like the red going vertical. So the top right is my pick.

The denser lines, especially on the cooler blue background do give a sense of depth behind the spider web. But I also think the lines look a bit too much like cracks. maybe why I am not a big Cherry Creek fan. I'm leaning toward #1.
The s-shaped line gives a sensual feeling. The placement in the center gives each side equal balance, and the fact that each side had blue and khaki (criss-crossed) adds to the balance.
I'm going to use this one in a piece I'm doing for the club newsletter. The pattern is so bold it still works in a gray-scale xerox.

I tried to keep the rule of thirds in mind here as the pattern is so busy. But regardless of guidelines, sometimes one just sticks in your mind no matter what. #3 and the last one are the ones I would purchase if these were all in a row for sale. Thanks for posting, I love your virtual cabs Daniel. You put as much thought into your shapes as I do. Its my favorite part of cabbing.......sitting down with slabs and trying to decide which shape would work the best with a particular stone.

I do like #3. I love to stick something interesting or different in the top right. But I think it remains my 2nd favorite.

Wow, amazing material! I think I like the bold brown line vertically, so my favorites would be the 1st and the 3rd on the first row.
At a seccond glimpse, the first one is the best I think, the balance is perfect.

I would go with the last one for two reasons. It is the end of the slab and you can test that one out to see how solid the red line is before making any other cuts. Fran

Are these big slabs or what? Look like cabachon blanks. If they are big slabs, send them to me and I'll show you how to cut ALL of them. ;D ;D ;D If they are slabs, you can get a lot of cabs out of each. Bet I could get a lot of knife handles out of them. lol Some great looking stuff, whatever they are. Ken

No, it is a single 4" x 2" slab. The same feature occurs in multiple pics. You can cut only 1.
