Howdy folks, Well, colder than heck again today and I only cut a little while because the shop was in the 30's with the door open. Was cutting softer materials first to break in the new blade. Here are a few pics. Thanks for looking......Mel Sliver Lace Travertine from up by the old silver mines near Calico, CA. These were taken dry and are about 2 1/2" by 3 1/2". Chinese crinoidal limestone. This rough came from Ron's Rocks and he's the only guy I've ever run into that had this high grade rough. The typical stuff I see is gray matrix with white to slightly pink crinoid pieces. I love this deep black and pink variety. Taken wet in this case.

*L* Ron's a crusty character all right but he does have some high quality rough. Don't think he has much of this crinoid anymore though. I got this years ago. Fairly pricey for the material too, as I recall, but top of the line stuff...Mel

I really like the Travertine. Cool stuff.
30's in the day? Not a chance. That's why I live in So. Cal.
