Howdy folks, Man, Texas weather! yesterday it was snowing all morning and today downright warm and pleasant so I went out in the shop and sawed some slabs while I worked on some preforms. Here are some of the cuts. Thanks for looking....Mel Some more of the nice Chinese crinoidal limestone from Ron's Rocks. Cut this one a different direction and I like the patterns even better than the others I did awhile ago. Next, I blocked up a vein piece of Agua Nueva Moss from Mexico. This one was about as long as I could fit on my ten inch saw vice. Most these slabs are about 2" X 41/2" or therebouts. The hunk started out mossy: Then some nice pink and white fortifications started showing: Then finally, the fortified sections started filling about half the slabs. real interesting stuff!

Ken: I suppose they would make nice knife scales but my collection is mainly fighters so I'm one of those practical sorts that likes kraton. leather. linen micarta, horn etc so I can hang onto my knives. If I ever want a knife just for lookin at though, man you're the fellow I'd go to. Your creations are beautiful!.....Mel

More kick-butt slabs Mel!
The Agua Nueva Moss reminds me so much of some of the moss found around here. The reds, oranges, a few white forts. Awesome!
