While I hope it comes to less than to more, I will begin 2010 with some major diagnostic efforts. Things have not been right since they took out part of my colon 13mos ago. Slightly worse this Fall, and somewhat disabling for a few weeks now.
Monday we will do all kinds of blood tests and screening for colorectal cancer and about a half-dozen other possibilities. As soon as I can get in, there will be at least one scoping session. Some sort of referral should follow but I have no idea whether it will be to a GI, oncologist, neurologist, or surgeon. I would truly love to learn that all my problems are bacterial/intestinal-flora, but we will see. Heck, I'd even settle for post-surgical IBS. I seriously do not want to contemplate any more operations.
I hope I manage to stay working and find some time for rocks too. Not so much the last few days, but after the tests they should give the best drugs for my symptoms. Right now I have to make do with OTC.
When I know more I will post an update, but I don't want to dwell on this until I know what is what.

I was diagnosed with Chrone's (not sure it is spelled correctly) several years ago. It took them a year to finally diagnose it. I was getting burning peeing so they checked me for urinary problems first. I took a lot of tests and everything came back unspecific inflamation. I also had about a 18 inch section of small bowel removed and the surgeon was an old guy that didn't do a lot of guessing, he said it was Chrone's where other doctors would not decide specifically. I guess the deciding test was a barium enema where they could check bowel restrictions through the small intestine.
Long story short, I had the surgery and after a few months of recovery, I was fine and have never had a recurrance. I thank God for that because I hate doctors and just about everything medical.
I join the others in praying that you will have good news, a firm diagnosis with positive treatment and short recovery. I have learned that every day is a blessing and even on our worst day God is with us.
God's peace be with you always.

Hope the tests went well yesterday Daniel. I know you have the strength to deal with this in the most positive way, no matter what comes. Keep up the cautious optimism Sweetie. Will be watching for an update. Jo
