Howdy folks, Well, just got the forecast for here in south Texas and it looks like I'm going to be buried under a pile of blankets for the next few days of record low temps. Down into the low teens for three or more days here, that's freaking ridiculous! I hear millions in crops in all the southern states, especially Florida, are going to be damaged or threatened by the longest cold snap in like forty years. Northern Europe, Russia and China are getting hit hard too. Hope all you pro global warming theory, Al "the lying diaperload' Gore supporters are happy. Maybe we all need to drive our cars a bit extra next year to get more greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere and warm the freaking planet up a bit huh?..... * heading for hibernation*....Mel

Here is the facts! Watch out! Emergency! If we do not act today, we will perish! www.kusi.com/home/78477082.html?video=pop&t=aFrankly, we got conned. The watermelons did it. Green on the outside, Red on the inside. Pure communists, not the nice kind either. The Bush administration did it.

You ain't kiddin' Mel! Sunday I was driving up to the Iron Range with Kayla for softball practice and we went through a spot in Cotton, MN that was 32 below. I looked over at Kayla and she had grabbed the extra blankets in the truck and wrapped up tight... cause the damn trucks heater, even though cranked, could not keep up! This next spell is supposed to be worse! OH MY!

*L* Always willing to do my part Susan. Now if we'd hook up congress, preachers of all faiths, lawyers, the Sham Wow guy and that curly headed chipmunk cheeked halfwit that sings those godawful free credit report .com ads, it'd be like living on a tropical island all year long....Mel

I need to vent a bit. I have been noticing that as cold as it is...and the fact that this arctic cold air mass is said to come from the far north, that the temps north of the arctic circle are warmer than us here in southern Saskatchewan(-35C with the windchill today). The temp in Whitehorse North West Territorries is -26C with the windchill. this seems to be a common thing.

Global warming will melt the current glaciers and reform them in Atlanta.

People are going to hate me for this but I'm LOVING IT. Best December I ever had. My Boiler truck is busy. Had to hire an employee. I personally put in 280 hours( 52 hours none stop) and in total got 425 truck hours. I have had 1 day off in the last 30, Christmas Day. Need less to say I have not had time to post or comment on here. Hope everyone had a good Christmas and has great New Year. Thanks Amber for the Christmas card. And thankyou Mr Bush, allways did like you.

An update to my last post....here in Saskatchewan -33C, -43C with the windchill. Whitehorse(which is in the Yukon, not NWT like I posted before) -10C. I did hear once an unconfirmed rumor that there is volcanic activity melting the ice up north.

Dang, cold enough here this morning we had to chop through a few inches of ice in the stock tanks so the critters can get a drink. Man, I am ready for spring!......Mel

15 here when I walked the dogs this AM. Thank goodness it was sunny and no wind and the dogs did their business fast!
Colder than that where Mel is - 25 miles up the road from me. In fact, Mel had the coldest temps in this area!
39 now and suppose to get up into the 50's today. 50 I can live with.

Llana: Just an update on the cold. Went down to the pond to feed the ducks and geese this afternoon And the pond was frozen so solid someone had thrown a boulder onto the surface and the ice wasn't even broken. Rock was just sitting there *S*. Poor birds, who've never even seen an iced pond before, were so frightened every time they went on the ice and slipped and fell, that they were just huddled on the bank. Be lucky if the foxes don't find them tonight. Guess it's supposed start to warm up a bit tomorrow. I sure hope so...Mel

I'm trying to decide if I should be happy there's currently no wind chill, or be sad that it's still -4 degrees.

I'm sure the birds were confused and thinking to themselves "What the hell is this sh*t!
I remember several years ago - 2006 or so - we had four days of ice everywhere. The poor deer were slipping and falling all over the place. Some of them would fall and really struggle to get back up. I felt so bad for them.
Thanks goodness we are warming up! Man, I hate the cold! Just glad that we have had the sun and no wind! Cold is bad enough, but cold, dreary and windy really sucks!
Are you going to the Fredericksburg Rock and Gem show next weekend?
