All,
Ive tried to help out in a basic kind of way, but one of our members is having trouble logging in and posting. Heres what he says :-
"when I log on it does show at the bottom of the page that I am online, however I cannot post anything or join in. It still reads at the top of the page "Welcome Guest""
Ive asked him to clear cookies - no avail. I can log in with his username and password and make posts no problem - so its his PC which seems to be at fault.
Any Ideas anynoe? I am at a loss with this one - he even tried setting up a fresh account but the problem remains with that account aswell.
Cheers Mark

This might be it.
(have this board open in browser, copy the URL at top), Go to top of browser click "Tools", click "Internet Options", click "Privacy", click "Sites". Paste URL into the space "address of website ". Click "allow".
I've found this to be my problem more often than not when I can't log into or use a website.
Hope this helps.

I'm not computer expert, but here's what I would do:
First run a virus deep scan - I use AVG - it's free. Then I'd run a good malware scan - I use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - it's also free Then I would delete the temporary cache file If that didn't work, I'd download another browser - Firefox or Opera and try to log in from there.
If he tried to set up a new account and that didn't work, it's definitely something in his computer files that's causing the problem. If none of the above works, sometimes there's only two things to do
1) take the computer to the shop and have them clean it up
2) use the Windows disc that came with the computer and try to repair it from there or completely reload Windows.
Sometimes a computer gets so much junk on it that reloading Windows and starting from scratch is about all one can do.
Definitely try what Nancy suggested first! But do run a deep virus scan and a malware scan too.

It's possible that javascript is disabled that will be in your browser settings. In firefox it's under options and content.
There's no way of disabling it in IE.
Try a different browser see if that works.
Just added the following. Ok it's not javascript just checked that myself.
Is it possible that your settings have been played with. I'll remind the boy to ask his tutor at college.
Will need to know what operating system you're using if you can email another member and they can pm me.
