Weren't the closing ceremonies of the Olympic games great? The way the fourth cauldron was finally lit with the person who was supposed to light it originally there to still do it. For three weeks it was all good (at least for me). Yeah, I know, there are still problems in the world and we all have them too, but just for a moment, it was nice to see so many people from so many different countries together and having fun. I'd have liked for the U.S. to win the gold medal in hockey, but I am also very happy that our good neighbors to the north won it. Congratulations friends on such a great game for the ages. And Neil Young? He's the man! Long May You Run to all of our Canadian buddies.

That hockey final was one of a kind, indeed! Not only the quality of the hockey and the game amazed me, but also the attitude of the US team when receiving the silver medals. You could tell they didn't even qualify at the Olympics, looking at the players' faces. And they just won the silver medals!!! That's a winner mentality, first place or nothing. Maybe this is one of the reasons you've reached so far as a nation.
Congrats to both of the teams!

I NEVER watch hockey - but the men's game was great. As Mr. Condor said, wished for a different result, but hats off to Canada. I'll take second place to the folks that invented the game...

i'm rather pleased that the Canadians won the gold in hockey. as one American announcer said, the Americans would have LIKED to win the gold, the Canadians NEEDED to win it. ('tis their game after all.) i think it was fitting and well deserved and a great match to boot! kept us on the edge of our seats and we done't normally watch much sports save for F1 (which starts in two weeks!!!) i thought overall that it was a great Olympic games....but like Tweet said, what are we gonna watch on the tube now? ?? i thought the closing ceremony was brilliant except the American broadcast (NBC) cut off for some other series and continued after 11:30pm (EST).....hey guys....it's a SUNDAY night.....! i got to see Neil Young but just couldn't stay awake for Nickleback. good games! if the world could get along for 17 days there is hope, maybe. When the US scored in the last 24 seconds or so I nearly tore my ceiling fan from the ceiling. (I've been known to watch hockey standing up with my hockey stick in hand)
I was cheering uncontrollably, my dogs thought I was nuts and wouldn't come around for an hour.
