Tony and I had all day Saturday to play with rocks
You know we spent quite a bit of time with Ralph and Mary Ann in AZ so I tried to get pointers on how to whip Tony like she whips Ralph, so I had him cut glass and Obsidian for a few hours, should have taken pics of the bloody stumps, LOL. Then he had to cab, then he bossed me into finshing a bunch of his cabs, what a great day!! Getting forced to cab is fun!
So here are some that are mine and a bunch of Ralph's rejects, some of which looked better before I tried to fix them, LOL
Stone Canyon, had to replace the one I broke this is the one I am going to take to the PMC class Friday night
Kaleidoscope Jasper-I bought from Maryann, this is awesome stuff clean her out now!
This was from Rockincajun in my Christmas box, he had it labelled Ocean Picture Rock from Canada, I love this material.
Smithsonite-Tony got this for me and he made it, I just shined it up, it is really dense material, he got this as a specimen at a show. You really have to see it in person.
rough sort of matrix on the side:
All the rest of these were in my bag of rejects from Ralph, I took these back to the 400 wheel to try to smooth out some tumbler damage, I hate that Ralph throws these beauties in the tumbler, cause they are so nice. Some are still pity but these were my favs. Ralph does awesome work, I love that they are always cool materials, awesome shapes and large cabs! Thank you Ralph and Mary Ann!!!!
Not sure what these all are, so maybe they can chime in!
Graveyard Plume, really pity but pretty
lapis or sodilite??
Jade??
Crazy Lace
Palm wood??
A perfect Burro Creek
Zebra Stone
Rocky Butte?
Bloodstone
Dino Bone-sort of bluish, very cool
Some sort of agate?
This is wierd the green part is really soft, I love this cab even if it isn't perfect! Great color combo.
This is my favorite and it is a shame it is cracked I tried to superglue and fix it but this material is stunning it looks a little like pieteriste it is chatoyant at spots, very hard got really shiny, maybe like jumpin jeep? Whatever it is if you have more Mary Ann I want some!!!
Tony will have to post the other dozen or so we did! It was a fun day with my favorite rock buddy, wearing his dude necklace made by ME!!!!Green Imperial Jasper!
The only thing that would have made the day better was cabbing with a bunch of RTH'ers in person! I am missing my Burro Creek Days!
