i have a ac motor on my saw dose it make a diffarence if i run on high or low as far as saving the blade

The best speed is going to depend on the diameter of the blade. I have an old book that lists desirable RPM's for different blades,but I can't get it out of the attic right now.

You might try seeing if the manufacturer of the blade has a web site and if you're lucky, the site may list recommended speeds of their blades. Sometimes the speed may be given in inches per second of the outside edge of the blade (the cutting edge).
