my neighbors daughter called me this eve . she said the she found a unusual rock in her grandmas flower bed . it could have came in as river rock , years ago . no idea . i got excited once i saw it . ive never seen anything interesting in Western PA. she was going to break it with hammer . i quickly volunteered my WF saw. out side is crumbly with visable voids & crystal like pockets sort of a conglomerate of materials . once cut . i could tell that inside it is very solid & pretty hard . knife willnot scratch . it just leave a slight metal mark , like a pencil . it took a slight polish . on grinder. here are pixs. thanks for looking !! --paul

Well... it's definitely a super cool rock and your neighbor's daughter has a good eye. You oughtta encourage her natural rockhounding talent. I looked at this and knew that Mel will come to the rescue with an answer. But if you want me to give my input... here goes... the slice reminds me of Turitella, except it's clams or better yet... barnacles! LOL The artist in me sees a couple of flowers in that slice! Oh well, that's my input. Hope Mel or someone comes to the rescue soon. Jo

Wow very cool! Looks like fossiliferous flint with bivalves and maybe crinoid column fragments. Kind of an agatized fossil graveyard. We have several kinds here in Texas too and I really love that kind of stuff...Mel
