OK. I know you guys are probably getting sick of me gloating about my booty from the silent auction a couple weeks ago but I've started slabbing one of the rocks I got from the $1 table and nearly soiled myself when I saw what it was. I haven't seen Morisonite of this quality since I don't know when. I'm like an expectant father waiting by the saw waiting for the next slab to finish and there's 3-4 pounds of it!

Three to four pounds, there's enough to send us all a slab! Seriously...great find, beautiful material

I just checked. I picked up a 5-gallon bucket at the same auction. All Morisonite!
Like Captain Phil Harris said on Deadliest Catch a couple weeks ago: "The sun shines on every dog's ass sometime, and I guess it's my turn..."

Well Donnie, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it. Since I am in the polished stone and jewelry business I can't exactly give it all away, but it would be good Karma to share some. I need to take a look at exactly what I've got. I've never been in such a conundrum...
I'll keep you all posted when I have more of it slabbed up...

Man, all the finds of the century are all happening recently. Amber with her 2 dollar genie, Mike with his 50 cent 10" saw, Christopher with his 3 dollar 18" saw, and now Rick scoring choice Morisonite! Wow, I gotta keep my eyes open at the local shows too!
Great find Rick! It's beautiful. I like how it looks almost like flames around the edge.

OMG! That stuff is BEAUTIFUL!  I don't know that much as far as what name goes with what rock, but I see what all the excitement is all about! Spokanetim, every one of those slabs of Morrisonite remind me so much of some of the abstract kind of art you see for sci-fi & fantasy. I love them all! I thought the slab that Rockdewd showed us was really outstanding but those pictures really blew me away. I don't have any Morrisonite, had no idea what it looked like, now I gotta get some!!! Donnie
