I'm not sure where this one is from. It has a similar pattern to Stone Canyon but I have never seen these colors in Stone Canyon nor any included translucent areas. 2-1/2" tall. Polyhedroid Agate segment. 1-1/2" tall. Bob

Man that first one is stunning, such great color and a super shine. What is Polyhedroid agate? Never heard of that before.

How beautiful! Those reds look like they are just floating... Question, do you polish the backs as well? Jo

Tony, Polyhedroid Agate is a specially shaped geometric agate from Brazil. Not many come on the market any more. They generally come in black and the name came from the semi trapezoid outer shape. They were generally about 3" to 4" on a side, some with hollow centers and were colorwise rather unremarkable. Their uniqueness was the shape. Jo, Yes, I do polish the backs, always, and to the same quality polish as the front. Bob

Very nice Bob. That red is outstanding, and the poly is very unique!

That first one is gorgeous! I would had said the same thing about the 2nd one if posted alone, but this way the first one really takes the stage.

Bobby: Awesome stones. First time I've ever seen anyone cab a polyhedroid. There is some red and white brecciated jasper at Stone canyon, Creston, at Indian Valley over the hill to the west and on the Varian ranch near Parkfield but it looks to me like your example is probably Squires Ranch jasper that is from east of Parkfield over closer to Coalinga. It's famous for it's red breccia.....Mel
