They sure do have some nice fire in them! I don't know how you can get so many done because they really look time consuming! Great Job! Fran

They definately take a little work that is for sure. I guess I just really like cutting them. I learn on every one.

Great job of exposing the fire in those. Did you cab these or carve them?

Amber, Yes I cabbed the Larimar. I cab all the stones in my jewelry. I have had difficulty while slabbing rough Larimar nodules. They tend to crumble. You can minimize this by slabbing them thick. Usually once I have slabs I hardly ever encounter crumbling. You might try using less pressure when cabbing. How thick are the slabs you are starting with? 5/16"+ slabs work well for me with Larimar. I usually cut lightly on my 80 wheel to rough it in. If there is a lot of flaking while using this wheel I will just go to my 220 wheel and do all the rough work there. The rest I just do like any other stone. I finish using a rough leather wheel with premium cerium oxide and then zam on a cotton buff if I feel it is necessary, ending on a clean soft cotton buff.
Tony,
These stones are cabbed for the most part. I did use a 400 burr with my flex shaft on a few hard to reach areas when I was roughing them in though.
Jo, Thank you for the comments.
Steve,
I think it would be great to have you check out my listings! Please, feel free to comment. I love constructive criticism...that is how I learn.
Be sure to see the new fire agate cabs I posted yesterday!

Your welcome Amber. I wish I could go to the D.R. that is the only place in the world you can find Pectrolite in that world famous sky blue color that we all know as Larimar.

Jo,
I will try and post some more soon. I believe the next parcel in line for me to cut has dino bone, rodocrisite, mex. lace and I think marra mamba (not sure of spelling on that last one). So it might be a week or so before I cut more fire agates, but I will get them up.
