Great cabs - shapes and choices of material. I am only not too fond of synthetic materials. My favorite from this group of cabs is carnelian. Zoran

On that first one, if you hadn't said Rhodonite, I would have thought Rhodocrosite. Boy that is gemmy! And that Carnelian looks so yummy it's making my mouth water.

those are all beauties. drop dead gorgeous. Ralph, you consistently turn out outstanding cabs.
now, I have a question. Can anyone tell me how to tell the difference between carnelian & red agate?
thanks for the pics & (hopefully) info.

Jo:
There is a very simple way to tell if it is carnelian, or red agate. If Woody collected it, it is carnelian, if you collected it, then it is red agate.........actually, carnelian is a very translucent agate that is more a deep orange tending toward red and will be found in a wide range of colour. Sard is the yellow agate found with carnelian. Red agate is a deeper red, not as translucent (usually) and normally all the same in any given location. Woody
