For a long time I have bought out estates, bought large quantity of rock and hauled in hundred of lbs from the desert. All for the hope of some day maybe having a rock shop either at my home or online. Well, that dream is over for me. I have come to realize that it would entail way more time than I have to give. With the marriage to JC, being the secretary for his company and my housewife duties, there is just not enough time or space! I am really lucky to get out to cut and cab. So, here is the deal......I have sorted all of my rough into three piles. The very small pile is rough that I will work some day, the large pile was so so material and has been given away (around 250 lbs of it! ) and the large pile of really good stuff that has to go. I have listed some on Craigslist ($2 lb) and will offer it here at $1.00 per lb.. What ever is left after 2 weeks will be donated to newcomers here. You must add shipping to your boxes, $1 per lb is ridiculous for what I am offering. I am just trying to get a little of my investment back before donating the leftovers. I will post pics and lots over the next week. I am going to limit the boxes to Medium because JC has to take them to the post office for me and I want him to be able to stand up at the wedding on friday. Oh, and trades are welcome. I just want smaller stuff though. Buy as much or as little as you want! Ok, here we go............. The amethyst that I listed for trade in the other post.........$1 per lb. I have purple burro creek but the pieces are very large and will have to be broken up to ship.

Sheri, CONGRATULATIONS! I'm happy for you and JC. I wish you fantastic times on the journey that's ahead! I would have jumped on your offer .... up until today, that is. I've just today come into something like 300-400 pounds of amazing rough, so I won't be needing any more for a LONG time! In fact, I had to stack the totes out on the patio because there's no more room in the house or the garage! Tom

Usually, it's a sad thing when you hear that a rockhound gives away his rocks. But, given your reasons, you are an exception, congratulations to you and Kenny Rogers JC! And I am glad you still intend to keep some rocks to work for your joy. Maybe it's better this way, your love for rocks will be kept untouched by the concern of getting money out of them.

Congrats to you both. I wish you all the very best for the future, but PLEASE please do not say your dream is over. Why not just put it on a back burner? One time many many years ago I had a dream. It was on the burner for over 25 years. I am now starting to live my dream. It might still take you a while, but don't say yours is over. A Dream
A dream is something That’s completely you
A dream is something For you to do
A dream is something To try and strive for
A dream is something That could be more
A dream is something You can do anytime
A dream is something That doesn’t have to rhyme
A dream is something That comes from above
A dream is something About peace, hope or even love
A dream is something That you don’t have to share
A dream is something That you can tell anywhere
A dream is something That can come true ...
…but only if YOU want it to

Hey Sherri, congrats to you and JC. I wouldn't say you've given up your dream, its just morphed into a different dream, marrying JC. Ain't nothing wrong with that. I wish you two the best of luck but don't think you will need any. Well as long as JC stops yelling all the time. lol

Hey Sherri, It is hard to find a good man, and JC is a super guy, so if that means putting away the rocks for a bit, so be it, I would give up rocks for Tony, ......did I just say that? LOL Anyway congrats to you both I hope you have a marvelous day on Friday. Amber

It is all gone until after the Tucson people come. If there is anything left, I will post it. Mary Ann, I am still working rock. Even after I sell it all, I will still have about 300 lbs of my own to work. Just won't be selling rough any more, just cabs and pendants. Also might have some slabs here and there as I work my personal rough.
