A friend of mine recently went on a rock hounding trip that took him from Seattle through Utah. According to him, he was looking for a nice place to stop near a creak when he started finding jaspers and agates that seemed to be relatively virgin material. He loaded his truck down with as much as he could carry and then dumped a bunch with me so that he would have room for more rocks on the way home. I dont know where the creek was or if it is a know collecting place, so if anyone recognizes where this stuff comes from, pipe up! I do know that it looks great, it is easy to tumble, and it takes a great polish. I am offering this for $1.50 a pound plus postage. I only have the one tray of it on hand but I have a few larger chunks of it that I can get out of storage. Anyone who is interested can post here or email me using the link under my avatar. I cannot stay organized with the disjointed private message system on this forum, so it would be best to use my email. I accept paypal or money order. I can also send you an invoice from paypal that lets you pay with credit card, but it takes some figuring out. Also, I thought I would put in prices by FRB because I know it can be hard to visualize sometimes. Small FRB..............................$10 Pig in a blanket.....................$12 medium FRB..........................$25 large FRB...............................$40 Here come the pictures: Thanks for looking!

There's a lot of agate in utah that looks similar to this that can be found along the I-15 corridor. heck, I've found similar stuff in the extreme north west area of millard county. Can your friend tell us what major city he was closest to?

We collected across the entire bottom portion of Utah and found agate everywhere we stopped. Seems like htere is a lot of untapped collecting spots there. Those are some nice finds.

He was not being secretive about the location, in fact he offered to give me the coords, but I didn't want them. I do know he was on his way to Bryce canyon, if that helps. Also I found out that he took it to a local rock shop to have it cut open so he could see what was inside. The guy had never seen anything like it in the area and traded some of it for some Brazilian agate. I will get the coords for it next time he visits, probably at the end of this summer.
