When hand feeding and cutting hard rock and making slabbetts instead of trimming, they only last me for 8 to 20 hours of cutting. My first blade got only 4 hours, I I have killed a blade or two.
Plenty of water, a steady hand, and gentle pressure will give longer life.
But, Home Depot has several blades, so you should be more specific. I have heard good things about the Husky Blade they carry, and I often get the Hot Dog Mk225 from their website when they ahve sales. I like that blade.
Make sure you have a blade for granite, porcelian, or vitritus material. One rated for tile or stone will generally have much less diamond.
MK 99, or HarborFreight blades, perform more poorly and for some folks who push harder, they really perform very poorly.

Welcome to the forum papat. The rule of thumb I was taught is not to push so hard that you see sparks from the blade cutting the rock. Take it slow and easy and the blade will be good to you.
