Hey all, Im a stickler for ID's and this one has me stumped. Any guesses? Mel took a look at one of the finished cabs and thought maybe palm or just an agate with weird inclusions. But I didnt show him the whole slab, just a cab. I would really like to put a name to it as it was wrapped and given as a gift to my daughter. Thanks in advance for any guesses. The pics are all of the same slab, one of them is backlit.

Not palm. My guess would be some sort of coral. Very slight possibility that it might be dino bone. Don

John, you are just no help at all. LOL But funny you should mention that.....the daughter that I gave the wrap to......when she was a baby, we would give her a dill pickle and she would suck on it until it looked mummified. Nothing left but the skin. In the distant future, this could be what one of her mummified pickles looked like LOL. ;D Shannon

it does have the cell structure of coral, I have some smaller heads of coral that are polyped like that but also silicified or agatized throughtout the head which isnt a common thing with the coral like that

Yeah, I'd guess some sort of coral too. Doesn't look right for palm fiber or root.....Mel
