Thanks. I went down to Lake Michigan today and took some pics of seagulls, they aren't the best but I think they looked ok for me. You can see them in the first link I posted for Photobucket.

good for you, have fun with the new camera. I recently purchased a new Nikon D3000 with a 18 X 55 lens for it. I spent more money than you did but I like it anyway. Sometimes I wonder if the new camera is smarter than I am. it sure takes some wonderful pictures.
